On April 22-23, 2023, in Lviv (Ukraine) was held the traditional closed championship of the SC “KANKU” among children born in 2017-2009 and cadets born in 2008-2007.
Traditionally, this championship is considered the largest tournament in Ukraine. Despite all the difficulties of the training and preparation process, as well as the difficulties in organizing and holding competitions that the organizers faced during the war years, 740 athletes (47 karate classes) from Lviv and the Lviv region came to the tournament.
At the championship of SC “KANKU” the coaches were able to assess the level of training of children and cadets who train in the club. The winners of the tournament were included in the Lviv regional team for the championship of Ukraine, which will be held in Kropyvnytskyi.
Also within the framework of this championship, the qualifying championship of Ukraine in Kyokushin karate was held in the sections “kumite” and “kata” among cadets born in 2008-2007, juniors born in 2006-2005 and youth born in 2005-2003. The championship was attended by 320 athletes from 15 regions of Ukraine.
As a result of the championship, the Ukrainian team was formed, which will represent the country at the Youth European Championship 2023 in Hungary.
