According to the results of two qualifying tournaments, the European team was finally formed for the 7th WKO Shinkyokushinkai World Championship.
The European Championship, which took place on June 26-27 in Tbilisi (Georgia), became the first stage of selection for the World Championship. According to its results, 15 men and 8 women were immediately included in the team.
The second stage of the selection was the European Cup, which was held on December 4-5, 2021 in Kėdainiai (Lithuania). Following the results of the Cup, 8 men and 4 women joined the team.
At the moment, the team that will represent Europe at the 7th World Shinkiokushinkai Karate Championship is fully formed and includes 24 men and 12 women.
The 7th World Karate Championships in weight categories will be held on September 24-25, 2022 in Kielce, Poland. According to the schedule, the World Cup was supposed to be held in June 2021, but due to the pandemic it was postponed to the second half of 2022.
In karate, the world championships are a kind of Olympics that takes place once every 4 years. The previous World Championship was held on July 1-2, 2017 (Astana, Kazakhstan).
