Dear KWF members, Shihan, Senseis, Senpais and all other Kyokushin friends,
Right now, the world is facing a tragic situation. Something happened that nobody wants war in Europe. Like everyone else, the KWF is against this war.
Sosai Oyama wanted to promote world peace by Kyokushin and refrain from worldly politics. We are responsible for this legacy. We do this by training together, organizing international championships and experiencing Kyokushin as it’s meant to
be. The current situation between Ukraine and Russia is limiting this. The KWF will adhere the international measures which have been taken.
This also means that the European Championship that was planned in the Ukraine has been postponed. In June the KWF will decide about rescheduling the EC 2022.
We realize that this affects many of our Kyokushin athletes and we hope that this terrible situation will soon come to an end.
Above all, our thoughts are with the Ukrainian people and all others who are facing personal suffering because of this conflict.
Let’s stay in touch, respect each other, and make sure we keep our Kyokushin pure in memory of Sosai Mas Oyama. As Sosai told us: “Always respect the other and live according to the spirit of bushido, because these rules were made for the sake of peace and friendship.”
Sincerely,
Antonio Piñero
